Description
Northop History Society are holding a History Day on Saturday 1st October, which will include the following:-
A History Fair will be held in the Edith Banks Hall from 10am until 4pm, at which there will be History Groups (Rhuddlan will be represented), stalls and books + refreshments.
A History Tour between 12.15 and 1pm of St Eurgain & St Peters.
Exhibitions in ‘The Boot’ of the Royal Mail Coach Route, and the Royal Yachts.
And finally five one hour talks in the Northop Band Hall as Follows –
- Jill Burton 10 – 11am - Erddig - The jewel in the crown of Welsh country houses.
- Prof. Peter Gaunt 11.15am – 12.15pm - Chester in the Civil War - myth or fact?
- Prof. Howard Williams & John Swogger 1 – 2pm - Watts Dyke - in an entertaining fashion
- Brian Bennett 2.15 – 3.15pm -Scenic Flintshire (with old postcards)
- Prof. Raluca Radulescu 3.30 – 4.30pm - The War of the Roses
